This article will explain why night shift employees do not receive matched hours pay on the Public Holiday and how you can extend out the hours to activate the double payment.
Alkimii provides Public Holiday entitlements to staff from 12 am -12 am on the Public Holiday.
Any hours outside of this time will not be included
- A night shift employee may be entitled to Public Holiday pay, however, Alkimii only operates on the 24 hours in which the Public Holiday falls.
- If an employee begins their shift at 10 pm on the night of the Public Holiday, they will only receive their Public Holiday entitlement until 11:59 pm ( 2 hours) on that night.
- Once it hits 12 am, they will revert back to their standard rate of pay.
- It is possible to extend out an employee's hours to allow them to receive the Public Holiday entitlement for the full shift.
- Navigate to the Week Roster Screen
- Click on the shift rostered on the day of the Public Holiday for the employee
- Edit the shift times to extend the rostered time to match the hours work.
- If you are happy with your update, click Save Shift Anyway
- Alkimii save the additional time given to the employee in the auto-rostered Public Holiday Shift and in the Employee profile under "Holiday Balances" → "Autorsoter Modifier"
