Seamless Shift Creation: A Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Shifts to the Today's Roster Screen in Alkimii
- Using the mega menu, navigate to the "Todays Roster"
- Your default view is the current day. Use the day picker to select the day you wish to review. If this day is in previous weeks, use the calendar function to select the week.
- Now select the department using the department selector at the bottom of your screen.
- Here you will see a full breakdown of all shifts rostered for the day. The rostered hours will appear within the bubble across from the employee's name.
- You have two options to create a new shift within this view, either by using an "Clock Unlinked Punch" if the employee has already clocked in or in the top corner of your screen with "Add Shift".
Clock Unlinked Punch
- If there is no exisiting shift available for this employee to link to their clock in punch, you will need to "Create a Shift" for the unlinked punch. This can often be the case if an employee has been called in for cover or additional support and a shift was never created in the roster for them.
- Use the Modal to set the shift details, set the start and end time. Alkimii takes the Punch In & Punch Out times
- Add a note to the shift for future reference.
- Click "Save Shift" to add this shift to the todays roster screen and succesfully link the punch.
Add Shift
- At the top right corner of your screen, click "Add Shift"
- Use the Modal to set the shift details, set the start and end time.If you are within a specific department this information will automatically populate in the modal. Use the "Notes" field to further details about the shift creation if required.
Please be advised that any notes added within the following shift types will also appear on the mobile roster view:
- Normal
- Vacation
- Training
- Bank Holiday
- Statutory Training
- Departmental Training
- To add this new shift to the todays roster, click "Save Shift" in the bottom right of the modal.
- Once saved this will appear in the list of shifts for the day, ready for the employee to clock in.
- If the employee has already clocked in and their punch is sitting down with the unlinked punches, you can now "Link to the Existing Shift".
