How is the Public Holiday paid, if my casual, part-time or full-time variable employee worked on the day?

This article will show you how the Public Holiday is paid out for a casual, part-time and full-time variable employee who has worked a shift on the public holiday if the accrual rule is set up as "Pay last worked shift".

A casual, part-time and full-time variable contract is used for employees which are paid based on a variable hourly rate.

If an employee has worked on the day of the Public Holiday, they will get paid for their last worked shift as a monetary equivalent.

An employee is working a 7-hour shift on the day of the Public Holiday. They will be paid for this shift along with their last worked shift as a monetary equivalent. The last shift this employee worked was from 5-10 pm, two days prior. Therefore, this employee will be paid for their current shift plus their last worked shift.
