Navigation
- To chat with an individual or group, simply click on the chat icon in the top right

- When you open a message, the sender will receive a read receipt confirmation in the form of two ticks. This indicates that you have opened and viewed the message. If you prefer not to send a read receipt, you may choose not to open the message.
Read Receipts
- When you open a message, the sender will receive a read receipt confirmation in the form of two ticks. This indicates that you have opened and viewed the message. If you prefer not to send a read receipt, you may choose not to open the message
- To view read receipts within a group chat, click on the three dots to the left of your message and select "Message Info"
- This will display a list of read receipts on this message.
Read receipts are always sent for group chats, this cannot be disabled.
- If you wish to disable this feature, navigate to your profile picture. From here, select "Settings" from the list.
- Select "Notification settings" from the menu on the left.
- Here you can toggle read reciepts on and off, depending on your preference.
Voice Notes
- You can use the text box to type out your message or use the mic icon to send a voice note to the chat. All messages will be time-stamped with the date displayed when the first message of that date is sent.
- If you wish to send a voice note, you will need to allow Alkimii to use your microphone on the desktop browser.
- Now click on the mic and record your audio. If you need to cancel the recording for any reason, click on the bin icon to the left.
- To send the voice note, click on the blue arrow. Before sending audio, you will be asked to confirm you wish to send the audio message. Otherwise, you can select close to cancel it.
Kindly note that audio messages exceeding 4 minutes in duration will not be accepted due to their extended length
Reply, Edit and Delete
- If you need to reply, edit or delete messages, select the 3 vertical dots to the left of the message. These options will appear above the message. Choose from the options available.
- If you or another user does delete a message, this message will appear in the chat for reference.
- If you wish to reply directly or report the content of another user's message, select the 3 vertical dots to the right of the message and select the appropriate option.
Add Attachments
- You can drag and drop images and videos into the chat from the files on your system. You will then be able to add text to the message box if applicable before sending the attachment.

Chat Mentions
If you need to mention an employee specifically to grab their attention or notify them of an update you can do so by using chat mentions.- Simply type "@" followed by the name of the employee you would like to mention. Select them from the pop-up to tag them.
- Now continue to type your message as normal and send it once you are satisfied.
- This employee will now receive not see the chat pop up on their Alkimii screen but they will also receive a notification to inform them that they have been mentioned in the group chat.
- If they click on the notification, it will bring them directly to the message they were mentioned in without them having to scroll to locate it.
