In today's digitally connected world, staying focused while keeping up with the constant flow of information can be a daunting task. Whether it's a buzzing group chat that's always active or an individual conversation that's particularly distracting during work hours, finding a way to manage these notifications without missing out on important messages is key. This article is designed to walk you through the simple yet effective process of muting chats or group conversations on your desktop.
- Open your chat window on the desktop application and select the conversation you wish to mute.
- Within the chat, in the top right, select the three dots.
- You will see the option to "Mute this chat", select this option
- A pop-up will appear so you can select the duration of time you wish to mute the chat
- Select the appropriate option. Once selected this automatically mutes the chat and a red mute icon will appear beside the name of the individual or group chat.
- Should you choose to keep the chat window visible at the bottom of your screen, you won't be disturbed by notifications alerting you to these messages during the specified mute period.
- Similarly, when opening your conversation list you will see the number of unread messages beside the name of the individual or group chat along but you will not have been alerted to the messages sitting.
