What are the different Contract Types in Alkimii?

This article will provide a breakdown of contract type options available in Staff Profiles.

Please be advised that the Contract Type terminology listed in Alkimii is linked to the holiday balances calculations only and does not correlate to the terminology in the Packs set up within your organisation. 

  • An employee working full-time standard hours (39/40) a week and is guaranteed these hours. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the contracted hours hours 
  • Bank Holiday balance accrued at 1/5 (20%) of the contracted hours.
  • An employee who works a fixed amount of hours every week, lesser than the full-time standard. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked.
  • Bank Holiday balance accrued at 1/5 (20%) of the contracted hours.
  • Option available for employees on variable hourly-paid contracts. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked.
  • Bank Holiday balances are accrued based on the rule selected during the config phase. 
  • Option available for employees restricted to set working hours due to VISA requirements. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked.
  • Bank Holiday balances are accrued based on the rule selected during the config phase. 
  • Option available for employees restricted to set working hours due to their age. (Under 16, 16-18). 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked.
  • Bank Holiday balances are accrued based on the rule selected during the config phase. 
  • Option available for employees supplied by an agency and not employed directly by the hotel.
  • No holiday balances will be accrued. 
  • Option available for Full Time employees who are hired for a specified period of time. Normally the contract will end on an agreed date. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the worked hours. 
  • Bank Holiday balance accrued at 1/5 (20%) of the contracted hours.
  • Option available for employees who are hired for a specified period of time. Normally the contract will end on an agreed date. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked.

  • Option available for employers to move full-timers down to variable-hour contracts. 
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked.

  • Option available for employers to move their part-time employees to variable-hour contracts
  • Annual leave is calculated at 8% of the real hours worked
  • Bank Holiday balances are accrued based on the rule selected during the config phase. 
  • Option available for employees on work experience. 
  • No holiday balances will be accrued.

Bank Holiday Rules Available: 

  • Public Holiday Mirrored Shift: If you work a shift on the Public Holiday, you will be entitled to a payment to match the hours you have worked. 
  • Last Worked Shift: If you work on the day, you will receive an additional monetary equivalent to match the value of your last worked shift, regardless of the rate paid. 
  • Last Worked Shift at Basic:  If you work on the day, you will receive an additional monetary equivalent to your last worked shift at a basic rate.  
  • The 13-Week Rule: If more than 40 hours worked during the last 5 weeks. The employee will earn an average of their hours for the last 13 weeks.
