Alkimii Housekeeping is designed to simplify and enhance the efficiency of your housekeeping team's workflow. With real-time integration into the broader property management system (PMS), your staff can seamlessly check and update the status of rooms as they go, whether it's marking them as clean, pick up, dirty, inspected, out of order for further attention and so on!
This allows for smoother communication between departments, reduces room turnaround time, and ensures that your hotel maintains the highest standards of cleanliness.

Set Up Areas for Housekeeping
Before going ahead and starting to use housekeeping, customise your locations (rooms) by areas.

Navigate to App Settings using the Menu

In the App Settings search Housekeeping and click on the arrow to view Areas

Click Add Area

Choose locations that are in this area (for example, 1st floor , 2nd floor etc)

This setup makes it easier to filter and manage only the locations you need to work on within Housekeeping.
Navigating Housekeeping on Desktop
The desktop view is mainly for users who are managing the assignment of rooms and overseeing status.
When you open the housekeeping feature on Alkimii, you'll see two tabs: Overview and Assign Rooms.
Overview Tab displays a range of filters and a quick search bar, including:
- Room type
- Area
- Status
- Reservation status (only used if integration is enabled)
Beneath the filters, you'll see a list of all statuses and the number of locations sitting in each status. This gives you quick visibility of where every room stands at a glance.
Assign Rooms Tab shows a familiar list view with filters for:
- Area
- Assigned to
- Status
On the right-hand panel, you'll find all team members who are rostered in the housekeeping department.

Use the calendar at the top to switch between days.

Use the Quick Reorder option to adjust the order of team members in your view.

Export a report directly from this view
- Hover over the team member’s name to reveal the three vertical dots:
- View Housekeeping Summary
- See assigned rooms
- Unpublish all assigned rooms
- Unassign rooms
How to Assign Rooms:
- Start by filtering by area (for example, if you choose First Floor, you'll only see rooms from that area)
- Tick the checkbox next to specific rooms, or select the top checkbox to assign all rooms in that area
- Simply click on the team member's name to assign the selected rooms
Each status has its own icon, giving you quick visibility. If there are multiple statuses, they'll appear beneath the team member's name.
⚠️ Important: Team members will only receive a notification of room assignment when you click Publish.
Navigating Housekeeping on Mobile
The Mobile view is used mainly by the housekeeping team in charge of cleaning rooms, allowing them to quickly update the status on the go.
When rooms are assigned and published, team members can:
- Open the housekeeping section in their mobile app, or simply tap the notification to go straight to their assigned rooms
- Use the Assigned to Me filter inside the app to view their rooms and start working through them
As they work through their shift, they can mark tasks as complete and log any maintenance tasks as needed.
Reporting Maintenance Issues:
If they spot a maintenance issue whilst working, they can add it directly from the room card. When they update the room status, that change automatically syncs back to Alkimii in real-time.
