What Ask Alkimii Can Do? 

Ask Alkimii can help you in two main ways:

1. Answer questions about your data – Ask about your workforce, property operations, or employee experience metrics
2. Provide Analytics – Summarise activity, query your data, and surface insights across your operation. You have access to enhanced analytics capabilities that go beyond standard reporting, giving you richer, more granular insight into your data.

How to Ask Effective Questions? 

The quality of your answer depends on the quality of your question. The following techniques will help you get the most from Ask Alkimii.

1. Be Specific About the Outcome

Vague questions produce vague answers. The more precise you are about what you want to see, the more useful the response.

❌ "Show me staff info."

✅ "Show me total labour cost for last week, broken down by department, compared to budget, and highlight any department over 5% variance."

2. Define the Format

If the structure of the output matters to you, say so explicitly.

❌ "What's our staffing situation?"

✅ "Show today's roster gaps in a table with: Department, Shift time, Assigned employee, Status (filled/unfilled), Cost impact estimate."

3. Give Context

Background information helps Ask Alkimii reason more accurately.

❌ "Why are costs high?"

✅ "Our occupancy last week was 82%. Why was total labour cost higher than forecast? Include overtime, agency usage, and department breakdown."

4. Set Constraints

Constraints improve clarity and prevent over-answering.

❌ "Give me payroll info."

✅ "Show payroll cost for January. Exclude bonuses. Limit to permanent staff only. Summarise in under 150 words."

5. Break Complex Questions into Steps

Rather than asking everything at once, guide Ask Alkimii through a sequence.

❌ "Are we efficient?"

✅ 1. Show labour cost as % of revenue for the last 4 weeks.

✅ 2.Compare to the same period last year.

✅ 3. Identify departments driving variance.

✅ 4.Suggest operational adjustments.

6. Ask for Iteration

You don't need to ask everything in one go. Build on your answers progressively.

• Start: "Show sick leave trends for the last 3 months."
• Then: "Break that down by department."
• Then: "Highlight employees with 3+ absences."
• Then: "Estimate the cost impact."

Iterative prompting leads to deeper, more actionable insight.

7. Use Role Framing

Framing your question around your role helps shape the tone and recommendations you receive.
