My Settings - Notifications
This article will show you where your Notifications can be located and how to customise them based on your preference.
What are notifications?
Notifications are messages from Alkimii that tell you when something happens. For example, when someone mentions you, when a task is completed or when a new shift note is added.
You choose which notifications you want and how you receive them. Choose the notifications that help you in your role and daily work. This helps you see what is important and avoid too many messages.
Example: A housekeeping supervisor may turn on “Room assignments” and “Housekeeping room completed”. An HR manager may turn on “Starters”, “Leavers” and “Visa expiry” instead.
🚨 Important: You can only change your notification settings on the desktop version of Alkimii. You cannot change them in the mobile app.
- Log in to Alkimii on a computer.
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
- Click My Settings. The Settings window opens.
- In the menu on the left, go to the Notifications section.
- Click General, Property or People.
ℹ️ Note: The groups you see depend on your Alkimii subscription.
How to turn notifications on or off
- Click a notification group, for example General.
- You will see a list of notifications. Under each notification name, there is a short description of when you will receive it. For example: “Notify me when I am mentioned”.
- On the right of each notification, click the drop-down menu.
- Choose how you want to receive the notification:
- In Alkimii: the notification appears on your computer and in the mobile app.
- Email: the notification is sent to the email address linked to your Alkimii account.
- Both: you receive it in Alkimii and by email.
- None: you do not receive this notification.
- A message appears to confirm that your change is saved.
🚨 Important: If you turn a notification off, you will not receive any record of it. This means it will not appear later under the bell icon. Think carefully before you turn off notifications that are important for your role, for example Evacuation alerts.
How to see your notifications
- Click the bell icon. You can do this on your computer or in the mobile app.
- You will see a list of your notifications.
- Each notification shows:
- what happened
- the name of the person, if it is about another person
- how long ago you received it, shown in blue text under the title
